When the visibility is low (reaching the designed threshold) or the brightness is low (at night), the lighting systems on both sides of the road are activated. The yellow warning lights come on, thereby providing road line guidance in a high-contrast manner in low visibility environments. When a vehicle passes the device, an infrared trigger is activated, causing the red warning lights to turn on, forming a red trail to indicate that there is a vehicle ahead and to maintain a safe distance. When the vehicle proceeds forward past the next set of devices, the red trail will move synchronously with the vehicle's movement.
